Won't pass 4000RPM 2002 RSX
I own a 2002 RSX 5 speed manual. The car is not revving past 4000 RPM (limp mode?). The codes are a P1298 (V-tec malfunction) and ELD--electronic load detector. I inspected the oil pan and there was a dent right where the pick-up is located. I have since replaced the oil pan--the car ran well for 24 hours before going into limp-mode again. The CEL came on just as I was making a hard right turn which makes me think this is still an oil pressure issue. Can a bad ELD cause Vtec malfunction? Does anyone think this is still an oil pressure issue?

check you oil level............you are most likly 2 quarts low, the motor is in limp mode. Veeetack no work with low oil pressure.
