Default Thinking of dropping K20A2 into my 04 Ep hatch

Hey guys, i just bought a slightly hit 04 Ep Hatch from a friend of mine for $1500 so i have plenty of cash to spend on upgrades from all the money i saved on this steal. Im trying to find a K20A2 to drop into it. Its not a cheap engine considering i want the 6 speed tranny and all. I was thinking of maybe buying an entire wrecked RSX type S with a good front end getting all the parts i need from there and maybe selling anything else i can salvage. What do you think I should do or where should i look for a good deal?

Here are some pics of the Hatch.

Any ideas on where to go from here? Any opinions?

Thanks,
Ron

The subframe is straight and no harm done to the chassis. After removing the radiator support, only thing that is really bent or dented is the the very tip of the right side frame that I will fix with a puller.

I don't have a good picture of it up close, but you can kind of see it in this one.

I will get a better picture when i get a chance.

Because you can pick up a wrecked type S for like $6-7k. Just the type s motor and tranny will run you $5k. He'll have the whole car and anything not broken he can recoupe his costs with.

Uh... I got my a2 with trany for $3k with wire harness, ecu, and pretty much everything I needed and I've seen other people get their a2's for as low as $1,500 if you can hustle... $5k maybe for an ITR a1 which is a waste of money...

but for the money you save on a type s motor you can do what I did and upgrade the valve train and exhaust and surpass the power of an a1.

Where did you find your A2 for so cheap? I've been looking for one for a while and i have yet to find a decent one for such a low price.

There is a k20a2 type S motor on ebay right now with 75k miles for $2600. I do not believe it come with ECU or tranny though.

Goddamn, that looks ugly... I guess it looks worse than it really is.

Anyway, here's a link I've had for a while regarding the swap:

yea i got it for 1500. nothing else wrong. The paint job looks like it was sprayed with a can of spray paint, but nothing else is hit but the right front. It really looks a lot worse than it is. i will put up new pics soon of the progress.

turbo that thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, and when the motor blows just build it.

You might get 210whp from a k20a2 with like $1000~1500 of mods, but you will get way more hp with a turbo kit. And when you go all motor on a RSX that makes 200+ whp, the car is sooooooo loud that its almost undrivable on the streets because of cops, But with a turbo setup you can keep it quiet.
