<U>I copied this from a thread alonggggg time ago. i forgot who posted it</U>!
btw i know it doesnt have to do with the same exact setups, but i just thought i was interesting, and it is talking about spoon exhaust parts, and T1R exhaust parts.
We compared two exact same setups. Two DC5's, one with the Fujitsubo Power Getter, one with T1R B-pipe with DC5-R factory muffler.
Setup #1: DC5 Type S
-Type R cams
-Spoon Header (4-2 exhaust manifold, and 2-1 downpipe)
-Fujitsubo Power Getter catback exhaust
-Hondata ECU reflash
-AEM CAI
Setup #2:
-Bone stock Type S engine
-Spoon Race Header (4-2 exhaust manifold, and 2-1 downpipe)
-T1R 63mm B-pipe, with JDM DC5 ITR muffler
-Hondata ECU reflash (exact same reflash as setup#1)
-Factory Air Box
Dyno #2 setup ended up dynoing with 5 more WHP than setup #1. With 2 exact same setups, shouldn't the one with bigger cams be making more power? The only other difference is in the exhaust setup. 60mm vs 63mm.
We've tested out just about all better known setups in the market, just to compare the differences.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by JCL »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">why is spoon picked over the t1r?</TD></TR></TABLE>because they dont know any better....the spoon is actually 3 mm smaller than the T1R and quality is EXACTLY the same...i have a DCRH T1R B pipe and Spoon N1....I got the muffler before T1R started making any exhaust parts once they came out with the EP specific B pipe i bought it because A its bigger B its SS (like the spoon) and C its WAY cheaper... The header i would go with the T1R as well if u dont want the DCRH the T1R is similar to the Jackson racing race header where its two peices a header and test pipe....no flex pipe like the DCRH...suposed to give 22 hp on a K20A....I personally like my setup only thing id change would be the header to a toda or maybe another raceheader that is SS the welds on the CC DCRH are starting to rust...

T1R, because it makes more power and the build quality is top notch.

what race header would you suggest for the dc5? i think t1r is at reasonable prices and their quality is in there with like spoon, toda, etc etc.. i think that the spoon toda js racing their price is just too high.

the T1 R is nice as is the Buddy club. For about $350 you can get a DC. They are nice too, especially for the price.

rite now im pretty happy with my comptech exhaust which is 63.5mm but if i had a another chance I would of definetly gotten the T1R
...looks way better than my comptech but performance would be the same im guessing.
i was also wondering about the T1R 70mm exhaust...is 70mm too big for just a H/CAI/Reflash setup?? dont you need to be putting more power down for you not to lose lots of back pressure
