Default RSX-S as next car?

for my graduation / 18th b-day present, my dad and I are looking into a RSX Type-S. Good choice or not?

I want this because the body style is sick (and plus, it's a honda). I only have 2 things against this: someday, a lot of people will have them, like how people have integra's now, and 2, it went to the K series motor and left the B behind.

One of my friend's have said the i-VTEC sucks. And another friend says his stock 94 4-door GSR can beat a stock RSX. What should I do?

Tell your friend that he sucks cuz i-vtec OWNS period. k series is the future b series is old news. Do a search and you will find tons of things that will prove to you that the type S is one of the best cars to buy right now. For a honda that is.

Have you ever even seen a type S race?

I know i can beat a stock GS-R with obd 2 i have beaten 3 of them. I have never raced a GS-R with obd1 but I think I could take him.

In conclusion be and man and step up to the big leagues and get a type S.

Maybe if my grandma was driving! The K series motor is leaps and bounds above the B series motor. People are just afraid of something new. I wish I could get my B series to make 300 whp!

Well bro the thing you must do is test drive a gs-r and then test drive the RSX type S and see which one you like.

The RSX-S is made to out perform the GS-R in everything from handling to speed in which it has.

In stock form the RSX-S can beat a stock gs-r with no problems. In stock trim the type S runs a 15.2-15.4 in the 1/4 mile where as the Gs-R was rated at run the 1/4 in 15.6-15.8.
With a simple intake on the type S the power is pumped up a nice 10-15 hp. I'm not sure about the 15hp but gains were shown around the 9-11 hp gain.

Like I said test drive both cars and then make the decision bro. Good luck.

sounds like your friends are 2 fast 2 furious. Educate yourself on the k-series, B-series was great for its time but its the year 2003 and the K is in play.

ask your friends why the i-vtec sucks,

It's the same vtec on a gsr except you have vtc +/- your cam timing 50 degress 50 DEGREES thats nuts, you know how much 50 degrees of timing is, on the fly!, anyways then get yourself some Toda spec A cams, your type S becomes the Type R

My friend said that old cars (aka rx7 fc, 240sx) can beat a stock rsx-s, but is that true? Shouldn't new cars be better if they have better technological designs. What should i do or tell him?

you'll see some wicked rsx-s take out an evoVIII...and everyone knows that the evo is not a joke... the race is on the highway... because we'll never take an evo in the quarter mile rsx has some mods done to it and the evo is stock...

I've seen that type R before, he works at the car wash by 7-11. I live right by there, I see it all the time. I never talked to the driver though. Is he a member on Ht?

My buddy with a civic Si EBP said he saw him at fallon raceway and that type R was running 16's have any info about this? It was around fall of last year.

I've seen the ITR and the HF around hilton when I was bowling one night, I was gonna take some pictures of it but I thought I would look alittle weird. I wouldv'e takin some sick *** night pics better than whoever took those pics on your site

How come I've never seen a banner/sticker representing aiyoko?

for a sick *** R. What mods does he have.

you have to think of all the potential the K-series is capable of. There will always be people who whine about honda leaving the B-series behind, but who is to say NOW that the B-series is better than the K-series when the K hasnt been tapped to its' full potential...btw the rsx-s is a great car, and you're a lucky snoob for being able to get a brand new one

1. The K-series is not the problem with the RSX. It's a great engine. If there's anything to dislike about the RSX it's the change in suspension architecture (and the increase in mass, the higher center of gravity and the cable shifter).

2. i-VTEC, as actually used in the K-series, is more of a glorified EGR system than a power enhancer. Great for emissions, but the real reasons the K-series makes more power than the B-series are the extra 200 cc displacement, a cylinder head that flows a greater volume of air and a much more precise engine management system. That doesn't mean i-VTEC sucks, but it's not something to get excited about either, unless you're an EPA engineer.

3. Who cares what it looks like. It's a cheap Japanese car, just like the Integra before it. You want style, save up for an Aston Martin.

Well...

Yeah. Both he and I work @ Xpress Lube and Wash (by 7-11) 5 days a week. No, he isn't a member, he just uses mine. He's my brother. ^_^

No he doesn't run 16's.... he run's low 14's.... and he's never been to fallon.

Yeah, that HF is also apart of are team. And for the mod list, it's pretty extensive. Even I can't keep track. Just keep on checking to our website, it will be on there someday, hopefully soon.
