does it make a noise...like a "clank" noise? Or does it just hit hard like its bottoming out..if its the second...then you forgot to cut the bumpstops which explains why the car feels like its bottoming out over small bumps...

And if you bottoming out are the strut bad already?

I dont quite understand what your saying here...ok, so the ground controls came w/ a triangle bumpstop...so you got rid of your OEM one though then right? that dust boot cover contains the bumpstop... your second question...are you asking if the car is bottoming out then that means the strut is bad right? well..depends on the amount of mileage..unless he has like 50k miles on his stock shocks/struts then they could be out..only one way to find out though...jack up the front and see if the wheels fall..if they do, that means that the struts still have pressure and that they're not leaking or blown...

Im pretty sure it has someting to do w/ the bumpstops...the grouncontrols are just adjustable coilovers...what im thinking is that since theyre not a whole damper/coilover set...that means that when you put back the front shock assembly you a) did not replace the OEM one w/ the one provided from ground control or b) do not need the one provided from GC but you do need to trim at least .6 of an inch off the oem bumpstop...

Re: (arcticblursx)
i didn't put the oem one back. i only the triangle bumpstop lookin thing the gc provided. are you suppose to put the oem one's back? i was looking oem they cover the strut so am i suppose to cut off the cover can use the oem bumpstop? forgot to mention that gc only provided a rubber bushing(part that go's on top of the spring portion) only for the rear and for the front they didnt provided the bushing....

then there ya have it...if theres no bushing for the fronts..and thats where the noise is coming from...then yes you were supposed to keep your OEM dustboot w/ the bumpstop built in it on the front shock/strut assembly...

depending on the instructions..once you put on your OEM dustboot w/ bumpstop in it back on..and its still creating a noise like your bottoming out..then you'll have to cut the bumpstop from the dust boot and trim roughly .5 of an inch off it....

also check torque specs....check the self locking nut on top of the oem strut w/ the GC's...if theyre on too tight it might not allow the spring enough travel so it'll keep bottoming out...Im pretty sure your problem is because you didnt install the bumpstops....if the fronts do not have ANY kind of bumpstop in it..then thats your problem...bumpstops keep the car from bottoming out and I think thats whats happening to your friends car...
