Default Need a tie rod...get a generic brand?

Hey I need a front left tie rod and was wondering if you would recommend a certain brand or just like a generic Pepboys/Autozone one?

there are some good aftermarket companies like moog, im sure would be fine. oem is gonna be your best bet though. side note, i think its recommended to replace the tie rods as a pair and get an alignment

Thanks for adding your own original input, Josh.

Aftermarket tie rods are fine, this isn't a part which requires fine mechanical tolerances.

Its is a important part in your suspension. If you buy a junk one and it breaks good chance your gonna do alot of damage to your car. I see it everyday in my shop. Buy a OEM Honda, it will last longer.

OEM is always best but I don't think aftermarket ones are going to be that terrible...

Or it breaking off and ripping the suspension off and possibly total the car if you lose control of the car on the highway. Not trying to rain on your parade but ive actually seen it many times.

lol i told my buddy that's a mechanic that has a selection of generic brand names "just get me the best generic name that you would feel comfortable putting on your car or i'll get it oem"
dude is almost 50 years old and has owned a repair garage since his 20's so I trust his word

but damn you got me scared now

Have you honestly seen that happen because of an aftermarket tie rod end failing?

definitely want to get something reputable when it comes too suspension parts. name brands dont matter as much as product. tie rod failing can do some serious damage.

Youve actually seen it many times,Huh?? LMAO ur a turd. Dont listen to this tool. He's 22 years young and still lying to impress people. After marke tierod will be just fine. Worst case scenario you'll get with an aftermarket tie rod is it doesnt fit right. In which case i'd send it back and try another.

If you're lowered look into inverted tie rods to improve steering.
