need help with conserns about rhd conversion
Was up HT-ers.. i live in cali and i have a 02 rsx type s.. the front is damaged so i need a new clip.. i got one but then i got the idea that i want to convert it to rhd while im at it .. first of all i want to know is it legal to do this? Would it be street legal? Has anyone done this.. if anyone can help me out i would really apperciate it.. i have my eye on a front rhd clip already but before i buy it i need some answers.. thank you
It is street legal since it's registered as a LHD car already. There are only two/three people that I know who have done this conversion. I almost did it myself but said no thank you after talking with one of them and seeing how big of a pain it was.
How much is the clip? And how much car knowledge do you have? Have you ever done a project like this before or anything major? Cause it's a serious killer if you haven't and I wish you all the luck in the world

Well i found a front clip with k20a for 4k.. i wouldnt consider myself a technician lol but i do almost do all my work myself.. i know its not gonna be easy but the labor part isint my concern.. non-matching vins, the legal status of a rhd car, rules, regulations, laws idk im more conserned about that stuff..
if this is a show car go nuts. if you intend to ever drive it on the street dont even think about it. a rhd honda will stand out to cops a lot more than a regular one.

if you have any "conserns" about doing a RHD conversion then you probably shouldn't do it.
between doing all the work, and just making sure you're doing it right so it's not illegal, it's just more hassle then it's worth.

how did you go about getting the blue tag from chp im planning on doing rhd to my 99 civic sedan what does chp look for in inspection i read some ppl passed the inspection and has a legal rhd conversion
Every Chp office is different, the best thing to do is get ahold of the chp Vin verification officer in your area and see if they'll even do it. A lot of officers won't do it but you might get lucky like I did and find one that is willing to do it, I've done 4 Rhd conversions in the past but my crx was the first one I got blue tagged.
