Default K24/k20 rsx build

Okay so I blew my motor the other day in my type s and figured might as well go k24. So I got a k24a4 and still have my blown k20a2 and was wondering what all I’ll need for this swap. Had planned on doing it anyways but was rushed into it when my motor blew any help would be great.

Search, search, search! Others have asked the same thing!

First and foremost, you will need a tune-able ECU. The K24 motor mounts are different because it's taller, so you'll also need the passenger side mount from a K24 equipped CRV.

The A4 has far less compression as well, be prepared to gain TQ but lose HP.

Okay so am shopping for pistons currently I’ve heard that wiseco 12.5.1 would be good. I’ve found some but they say +5cc and I’m not too sure what that means and what difference it makes. This is my first time really building a motor all I’ve done in past it basic bolt on stuff

That is the dome volume of the piston. Using the Zealworks calculator, a standard sized piston (87mm) with a 5cc dome volume in a stock height K24A4 block and an unmodified K20A2 cylinder head... I get a compression ratio of 12.66:1.

Just a heads up, weisco is great, but they're not the only option out there, and certainly not the most affordable... Supertech makes a comparable piston, as does other big names like Brian Crower, Skunk 2, etc.

Okay cool thanks for clearing up the whole 5cc thing kind of thought that’s what it was just wanted to be sure. Also yeah I’ve checked into super tech and Brian crower was skeptical of skunk 2 I just don’t know many people around me using skunk 2 besides bolt ons but I’ll check them out as well. I plan on just doing high comp pistons and some good rods and put it all together and ride it like that for now since I was rushed into this and tight on funds, until I get some more funds... then do some head work cams valvesprings etc looking for 250-260 hp in the end. Just a fun dailyable rsx
