Default Help diagnosing cooling system problem

Car: 2002 RSX base 110,xxx miles

Symtoms

1.heater gets cold at stop lights (intermitent)
2. upper radiator hose sucked flat

-Coolant level is normal
-temp gauge is in normal spot (not hot or cold)
-car runs at normal operating temp, temp does not fall on when on the highway

I think it might be the thermostat but i want some other feedback from you guys.

Radiator? Really? Did they say why they presume Radiator?

radiator has pin hole leak, but that still does not explain why the heater gets cold when I'm not moving. The fluid level is normal and full.

Is there any vacuum lines controlling the heater under the dash. A vacuum line that switches the air from hot to cold?

All Honda's do this (or the newer K20 Honda's at least). Mine does it. I know other EP3/DC5 owners have said the same thing. I think it might have something to do with the water pump not moving enough coolant through the heater core at idle.

as for the hose sucking down, I've seen many radiator caps do this. GL

Rad hose sucking flat is definately a sign of a faulty rad cap.
