Re: eps light (jdmep)
i had that same question when i bought mine!
it turns on for a few seconds, then turns off.
but mine stayed on one day!
(i freaked! ...i'm not good with electronics!)
but i restarted and it went out... ???
after i searched, i found out that, (i'm guessing) when i changed brake pads,
i had changed the steering wheel too much, and it resulted in it needing to reset!
thats all!
-it did it also when i coasted (engine off) into a parking spot...
because i turned the wheel when it was off!
(i only did that once! ...never again!)

Yeah, instead of powering the steering with hydraulics, it uses a motor. It saps slightly less power from the engine and lessens work done as you go faster. (Less "power" steering at higher speeds)

DUHHHH!
i know it wasn't the pads...
"...when i changed brake pads,
i had changed the steering wheel too much, and it resulted in it needing to reset!"
like i said,
i think it was because -i turned the wheel with engine off- to change the pads, when i went to start it up, it was turned in the opposite direction then when i shut it off
