Default Do EP3's get stolen much?

I'm considering picking one up, but I live and go to school in north jersey where there's a lot of car theft.

I'd have to say they are the least stolen Si made to date.
They are gaining a little popularity around here (metro detroit) just for that reason

I don't think they will ever be in high demand for thieves because:
1. they came with the worst K-series you can get
2. most honda enthusiasts don't like them for a multitude of reasons, so they're not sought after for builds or projects
3. honda practically had to give them away at the end of their run; less value
4. if you didn't know what you were looking at, at first glance, they look like a Focus

But I still like my EP. I'm the original owner, I've put 172,000 trouble free miles on it to date and I think it's still one of the most rigid/solid feeling civic chassis' I've ever driven. I wouldn't steer someone away from buying a used but well maintained example.

they normally dont steal ep3s unless you got some exclusivesexy parts on it. say maybe volk rims or a good *** head unit or a nice *** body kit. that about the only reason some one would want to steal an ep3. the engine is underpowered and some of the parts only fit on ep3s. so i would say your ep would not be a target of choise unless you have soom rare goodies on it.

i know one guy on ep hatch just recently had his ep stolen in delaware. they took his head unit and volks and kpro and i think his body kit. other than that..he got his car back in the end.

lojack or gps alarm is my .02 People will steal anything if it's easy..... Hondas = easy
There are a bunch of things you can do to your car to make it harder to steal, but they'll take some work. Even simple kill switches or cleverly installed relay systems will keep the majority of bad guys from driving it away.... but if they really want it, they'll tow/drag it away.

This don't go to north jersey. I would take my CRX anywere near there not even for an car show because I know something or my car would get stolen, and that's why I have 2 cars.

My car was stolen but that's rare. I'd get the EP, most thieves in the Northern area don't know what it takes to steal a newer model Civic.

i live in north jersey. lips rims anything easily removable. i haven't heard of too many ep3s getting snatched but it's always good to have multiple layers of security.

I feel pretty safe. But people tell me that they want my supsension, or seats. & I'm STOCK. Just little comments. SO, there will always be a reason to steal any EP. In seattle there's a good amount of thieves around. I sleep with my window open right above my car just in case.
