I just got the 03 type r 5 lug conversions for my 02 si.
Has any one try this yet. If so did you have any problem? Did you used your si Axels or the type r one

the 5 lug should bolt right up and most likely you will need type-r axles. i needed r axles for my dc5r 5 lug

I'm still using my Civic master cylinder, and have not noticed any fade what so ever. Granted I'm using different pads, brake lines and fluid as well. Many have switched it though, which I'm sure wouldn't hurt one bit.

im fine with mine. iono if dc5 master cylinders r bigger than ep, but i dont think u need to run a bigger one for a oem brake application, big or small.... iono im talkin out of my *** lol

97 TYPE-R 312

I did the 5 lug / TYPE-S swap a while ago with Cobalt GT pads F/R on my EP. All I can say is I hate the EP ABS! Threshold braking on the track was great! Just don't hit ABS. Maybe I'm used to my DC2R's ABS. Once I do the DC5R Brembo setup, I'm going to add the larger master cylinder as well.

I have DC5 R brembos and you don't need Type R axles as long as you have Type S ones. I still have an extra set of axles just in case but I've been driven my car pretty had and it's been pretty good.

IT's not the TYPE S it the TYPE R from japan (the CIVIC TYPE R). i do not know if the type s and the type r 5 lug are the same.

its the same 5 lug, but to my knowledge it won't be brembo. it will be the Nisin ones with "type r" in like helvetica font on it. Unless i'm mistaken, CTR's didn't come with Brembo's only the Integra.

Much like type-r 312, I also hate the ep ABS. Slamming on the brakes with the oem **** causes slipping and extremely long gaps between pulses. If i were to convert to 5 lug i most definately would upgrade to a better master cylinder because the ABS will have more problems with a beefier setup causing the overall system of braking to bottleneck.

while were are on the JDM type r subject, and im sorry for thread jacking but since we have some informed members here id like to ask a couple of questions.

let me know ill be happy to start a new thread and delete my post here.

The Civic Type R is one of the vehicles im looking to purchase here in kuwait.
i know in fact it is the Euro model. I know that the 02-03 models didnt have a LSD, or the same power as the JDM one or the nice recaro sets, not even the 04-05 model has them. other than the asthetic changes in 04-05 what did the euro model get? what are the brakes that are on them? is there a website where i can read more about it? i have been to the dealer here, and visited all the world.honda.com web sites, but no information is given. i have also driven a 2003 EDM CTR on 13 may, and the acceleration wasnt quite what i was expecting. i guess because it was 102 degrees outside. it felt similar to my Si back home. any help is appreciated.

what are the brakes that are on them? this is for the JDM (The front disks are a massive 12" inch in diameter which will definately make your Civic stop on a dime! The suspension is especially calibrated to bring racetrack performance to your Civic)the JDM has a 6 SPEED the si had a 5 speed, if the si has the HFP 17" alloy wheels is will slow do the si. do not get it.

you don't need the ITR Brake master cylinder.

your abs will be a tad off, don't expect them to save you like the stock abs possibly could have... when you mess with the calibrated force, you're abs gets out of whack...

safraz, your lights should be going out to you any day, I am just struggling with these stupid H4 harnesses... We can talk about suspension if you wanna give me a call, you have my # I am thinking about doing the same thing. Have done lots of research in the last few days.
