Icon6 02' rsx tpye-s two problems

Ok been doing hondas for a while but I just bought my first k motor dc5 yesterday with 69k. I havent changed plugs or anything yet (k20a2) no CEL lights

So my first problem is at idle, the car putters around 800-700rpm, and also under light acceleration it kinda lags then picks back up. I believe it might just need a tune up but any other ideas?

My next problem is only when im starting off from first gear at a stop. It sounds like the engine is rubbing somthing. I got underneath and the oil pan is like half an inch from the passenger subframe, BUT it sounds like it's on the drivers side. I checked all motor mounts and they are pretty good condition, none or dry or rotted. so again any other ideas?

thanks 8-)

Congrats on the purchase

Is this car stock or does it have any modifications? If it has an aftermarket race header, they can hit/rub the subframe without having solid motor mounts installed.

I'm not real sure about why it would be bogging when accelerating though.

thank you, yea it is a stock motor but it does have a comp tech header which is probably the issue since you said that, but nothing to worry about i suppose. yea, im not sure about the light bog either Im going to start with plug/wires and see what it does.

Well, K series doesn't have the same wires as other Hondas. We use coil packs and I'm sure those should be ok or you would notice it more. Some new NGK plugs will prolly do you good though.

It's possible, how long has the car been sitting for? If it's a full tank, buy some fuel stabilizer and add it. But if it's half tank or so I would say just top it off with some fresh petro

I believe he's had it sitting for a while, I just payed more attention to it, and its jumping more around 2k-4k under light acceleration. It almost feels like and injector issue, but vtec hits on time and pulls strong. To be honest it pulls harder in third then second if it helps?

Ok so here is the deal, I reset my ecu by pulling my fi ecu and back up fuse yesterday seing if it would fix the problem.

Come to find out, my CEL came on. It blinked (signaling a misfire) and stayed on. So i changed out the plugs (which didn't fix the problem) and my #4 cyclinder plug was burnt up. SOOOO now it's time to fix it with an ignition coil 8-\
