Suggestion on buying a 91 NSX
Hey Everyone. A buddy of mine is selling his 91 NSX with 101k miles for 20k. It carries a salvage title because his friend a previous owner, scratch up the whole car pretty bad and the insurance totalled it. He currently have Tein Coilovers, Volks Rims Staggered, Flat screen Tv, S2000 seats, personal steering wheel, Front lip, stacey side skirt, and rear valence.. hd also just recently replace the clutch, water pump, and all the major maintance. He has all the receipt and put about 30k on the car. . Would this be a good deal? Thanks.

IMHO, 20k is a little high for a salvage titled 91 NSX. This isn't considering the mods that actually don't do much to add value to a car if anything at all. If I were him, I'd sell the aftermarket parts (which will get a better price than if they remained on the car) and buy some stock parts to take the car back to stock as much as possible.

Re: Suggestion on buying a 91 NSX
I guarantee you that this car will have issues. Get an NSX that is not salvage and has a well documented history. Many NSXs in this economy are being dumped at low prices bc people cant afford to maintain them. Service prices haven't dropped in this bad economy, but ownership prices for NSXs have. Good luck...thorough research is very important for the NSX. Many small things can add up and cost $$$.

If your friend isn't lying about why it is salvaged then Id go for it. Don't be afraid of salvage cars, just make sure there was no major frame damage.
