My NSX Fiesta 2010 Blog
If you don't know already, NSX Fiesta is an annual event in Japan sponsored by the NSX Club of Japan and Honda. This year, they've invited owners all over the world to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the car and, happily, yours truly will be in attendance.
I thought it'd be a good idea to chronicle the event from start to finish here, from trip preparation to the events of each day, from my own pics to other attendee's pics, from Narita to Suzuka...as soon as I land, I'll start posting more pics and content from the event.
First things first:

Re: My NSX Fiesta 2010 Blog
It's almost 10PM in Kyoto right now and I haven't been able to access wifi like I thought I'd be able to. That being the case, I'll post a review of events when I return.
However, here's a small taste: rode shotgun on Fuji Speedway today...(a few 458s, 599, 430s - one a Scuderia were around)...riding on a bus. Having the time of my life. After the bus trip to Fuji and paying respects at Honda's grave, we took a Shinkansen to Kyoto. I'm pooped.
PS - one of the 458s crashed
Here we are at the Honda R&D facility at Tochigi.
Supposed to be 300 NSXs at Suzuka for NSX Fiesta in two days. Woot.

I can only imagine how much you'll be missing your own car there. Sounds like a blast though
PS, is that NSX-R a display fixture outside or did someone just put it there for the photo op?

You will, I'm sure. However, I'll put together events with content of what we did every day...here. In all, I took over 1,000 photos.
I did miss it. Every Japanese NSX owner asked me about my 3.6L engine and couldn't believe the power it was making. I wish I had it there.
They put it out there for a group photo op and put it in other places at the Tochigi facility. Even had it at the Refresh Center.
Some sneak peeks b/c my head is still spinning trying to adjust to the time difference...
Most realize that the NSX-R (NA1 and 2 versions are Honda's form of the unicorn) One of the highlights of the event for me: driving Suzuka...at night...in an NSX-R NA2...
Morning at Twin Ring Motegi
Thanking Mr. Uehara
Vaunted MP4/4

Re: My NSX Fiesta 2010 Blog
1st day started out fairly early, flight at 7:05AM. And I'm stoked. Turned in all of my miles (which are substantial) for 1st class seats to Japan and back. Which I'm hoping is totally worth it. Missing the family already.
Leaving Tulsa.
From Tulsa to Tokyo (Narita), there's only one layover...DFW. So a straight shot from Dallas to Tokyo. 13 hours and 20 minute flight.
My flight, Boeing 777, from the terminal gate.
Nestling into my seat, 1st class seating now includes noise canceling headphones and the option to watch as many movies/tv shows/games as you can fit into the flight time.
We flew straight north to OKC into western Canada and then made a westerly route through Alaska, the Aleutians, then into Russian airspace. I didn't research the route at all other than knowing it was Tulsa-Dallas-Tokyo so entering Russian airspace (the pilot announced the event) was quite a surprise. Opened the shade and took the pic of the Kamchatka Peninsula below. Remembered that the Soviets blew a Korean Air airliner out of the sky in the '80's and then I quickly shut the shade again.
Arrival at Narita was pretty uneventful except for the "Down with Narita" sign that greeted us on the way to the terminal. Getting my iPhone out to take a pic took too long and we quickly passed it. So I Google searched it and found it below:
Baggage and customs flowed smoothly if a little slowly. I quickly noticed how polite the Japanese are. Met my roommate at the airport after about an hour. An hour and a half bus ride from Narita to Tokyo later, we arrived at our hotel: Grand Prince Takanawa.
The garden and koi pond at the hotel:
Love koi...
I was amazed at the Tokyo city scape and how dense the city is. I was equally amazed at the lower height of the residential doors and their peepholes. I told my wife "I wonder where the hobbits are?" b/c the Japanese didn't seem shorter than I was. And I'm a measley 5'7".

Re: My NSX Fiesta 2010 Blog
The second day started with breakfast, which for expediency sake, I just ate at the hotel. I really tried to eat a Japanese breakfast: smoked fish, salad, soup, etc but I just couldn't get used to it and I'm a sucker for pancakes. So a Japanese style American breakfast for me while the roomie took his turn getting ready for the day:
The second day's events are highlighted by trip to Motegi and the Honda Collection Hall. The bus ride was actually very cool in that we all got a chance to put faces to our Prime screen names. Lunch included a bento box in a VIP suite at Twin Ring Motegi. No pics of the bento box but here's the view from the VIP suite:
A couple motorcycle teams were testing in the rain. Those guys had brass ones...giant brass ones.
Huge kart track at Motegi.
Track maps of TRM.
Turkey legs lovers rejoice...they are ubiquitous.
TRM had the best gift shop of any of the tracks. Picked up quite a bit of swag which most of the others, including my roomie, were jealous of. Saw these Honda branded driving shoes and had to take a pic. They were a couple of hundred bucks and I didn't feel like wearing them everywhere.

Okay, finally, some more pics.
Official NSX owner welcome at the Honda Collection Hall
Progession of ASIMO...
NA1 NSX-R.
Tail lenses look smoked from the factory.
Mugen JGTC NSX
Years of Honda F1 goodness...except for the RA108. That thing sucked monkey nuts.
Jenson Button's Hungary winner.
Still more to come...
