Default Installed Headers

This is how my buddy and I spent our weekend. Installing Cantrell Headers got them for really cheap on a group buy on a nsx fourm (nsxprime). Manual saids it should take 4 or so hours to do, the space to work in is so TIGHT, took us 7 HOURS with plenty of hardys and ice tea breaks. The gains are about 20-25hp, the stock header is badly designed. This job was a pain in the ***, had to buy new o2 sensors b/c we couldnt get one out so I guess it was time to change them both.

enjoy

I was super close to being a part of the same group buy but decided to wait it since my car doesn't run anyway - it'd be like gilding a turd. Pics look good, time seems reasonable, sounds like fun.

The welds you mentioned concerned me though. Won't they disturb the flow of exhaust (however infinitesimal)? For instance, the Comptechs or any of the other headers I've seen don't have the rough welds.

I cant believe those shitty *** manifolds that were put on a nsx out of the factory, someone needs to be shot! New headers look good man.

In theory yes but as you said its negligible, it might matter more if the exhaust flow is laminar but its not its turbulent. The original exhasut manifold is a casting assuming this was done for cost reasons, why they would do this on their showcar is beyond me.

Ditto

Thinking of doing this myself if I keep my car.

Wills headers look good. Recieved a set of them a couple weeks ago still waiting to check fitment and install a set and see how they do. Welds look good could of used a little touching up after wleding. Flanges are OK. Not my favorite piece. Piping is nice, their nice and light compared to stock (especially 91-96 models). All in all real clean headers, like to see some real dyno numbers comparing the different brands out there.

the_0ne: Mad props for you tackling that install on the ground. Done it once, thankfully i have access to a lift now.
Nice DC and EK in the driveway, clean!!

Try changing the clutch without a lift

What does your butt dyno think of them?

I'd have to hone those out. Those rough welds would annoy me.

Looks good though.

I think a simple die grinder would do the job, no?

I'm sure you could clean those off without honing, I'm just ****.
