went to acura today for a new cap and rotor. the motor is jdm and the cap was different rotor worked tho. anyone know what cap is for the jdm itr? thanks

part# was p72 something. will post the part number i got later tonight

 

P72 is a GSR Part number.

The GSR and ITR distributors are Identical.

I compared the new cap i got to a b16 distributer cap and they were exactly the same thing. im guessing i might have the wrong cap for my motor. i believe my motor is a 96 spec itr. anyone know which distributer i have and which cap i need?

no, the GSR Cap will not fit an R distributor, it is 2 mm too small...
When the screw came out of my rotor and went through the R's cap I tried to use my GSR's cap, but no go...

Okay boys and girls. Here is a sure way to check. Go to Len's online Acura Parts site. Then go select ITR, look at the distributor section, and check the part number for the cap then go look at the GSR distributor section and check the part number for the cap. Then, the most important step.... compare part numbers. Here we go, I'll save you some time and link you directly:

okay finally found a cap that works. the cap for the 96-2000 Integra Ls fits my itr distributor(TD-81U)

 

I wonder if you had a distributor king dizzy. Those itr units use LS caps and rotors, supposedly. My ls cap and rotor will be coming soon, so I'll see if it fits.

 

i believe the itr rotor will work for all of the itr dizzy's. so whenever i change out my cap n rotor ill be using the 96-00 ls integra(cap) for the rotor 00-01 Type r

 

i have a 96 jdm itr i just buy 00 itr parts i think those will work i have the old rotor and cap here some where i'll look at them tonight and put down there info
