Wheel width and offset question?
Will 16x6.5 with +55 offset wheels fit on an ITR brake set up? These are 03-05 accord v6 wheels I picked up. I posted this in the wheel and tire section already, but I got all the information except for a confirmation that they will or won't fit. I was told the JDM ITR 16x7 wheel has a +50 offset, so I'm thinking the Accord wheels are close, but will they fit over the calipers is what I need to know.

Actually no. It will be spaced 1mm further OUT from stock, which remember on a US ITR is 15x6 +50. The wheels he's talking about are 6.5" wide, and that along with the offset determine the wheel spacing.

Unfortunately I don't have anything to test fit them on, but I think I won't know until I do, these are for my Civic which I plan on getting the ITR brake/suspension setup for. I haven't bought this yet, and unfortunately there is no one around with an ITR, would 5 lug hub prelude calipers be the same size as the ITR? I know that the 4 lug ones are last time I heard, how about RSX calipers?
Yeah, according to this link

The inner clearance between the wheel and the strut housing would be 11mm less than with stock wheels, is that too close?
The position of the outside edge of the wheel is extended 1mm
So the track will not be more narrow at all, outside width remains practically the same which is where it matters, and you get an additional 11mm on the inside due to the wider wheel. As for them being heavy? They weigh 20 lbs each. That's not very heavy for a 16" oem wheel! Here's a picture I found online a couple days ago

Now I still need to know if they will clear the ITR calipers and now I need to know if there will be enough clearance between the inside of the tires and the strut. I was hoping I would see a post from someone who knows for certain, but I might end up being the guinee pig for this setup.
Might have to use spacers, if done right with extended wheel studs, and forged lug nuts, that would hopefully clear the calipers, not to mention widen the track of the car. I hope it all works in the end.
Luckily I got these cheap, I can always resell and put the money towards a properly sized wheel if this doesnt work. I'm thinking it will, I looked at some Accords today on the lot at Honda the wheels they have on them which are probably the same sise as these, they seem to clear the calipers well enough, even if the ITR calipers end up being much bigger these might fit, spacers should help.
