Default Wheel stud problem

Hey everyone!

One of my lug's is stuck on the stud. it turns, but it takes a lot of effort. and it does not get any easier. I know it's not cross threaded, because it was not hard to put on... damn it, I think I'm going to have to drill it out (carefully) unless someone has had this happen, or has anyother ideas? please help me!!!!!

Should have used softer bristles when cleaning those studs

Has it gotten progressively worse or did this just happen all of a sudden? Front or rear wheel? At any rate it's pretty easy to replace the studs (I hear), so if it were me I'd do what you gonna do to get it off and put on the new stud (or maybe just the lug is screwed up?)

It's the front stud. I tried to take it off when I got home from the expo but when I turn that lug, it is tight as hell... and it turns very slowly... it did not spin freely at all. it's the front driver's side. I just got back from my friend's house, and his air impact could not even spin the stud. So I have to drill, or take it to the dealer and let them deal with it... it will just cost me some Dollars, I guess.

try an impact gu to get it off. It that doesn't work your gonna have to have it broken off and then replaced. Replacing wheel studs isn't fun, cause then your hub bearing can get messed up when you are replacing the studs. Its a hassle.

Dril it out? Never thought of doing that. This might help.

Front studs are a PITA to replace. You can't just pop them in. If you really want to do it yourself, you have to grind a bit of the hub and a bit of the head of the stud down.

I REALLY wish they would have put a notch in the hub for stud replacement. It sucks to have to take the hub off, because there is a 50/50 chance you'll seperate the bearing.

As polite as possible. I didnt think it was hard at all. I guess the only special tool was getting a slide hammer.

Must be them east coast guys having a hard time?
