VAFC capability?

Just wondering the extent of the tuning capability of a VAFC II?
Can you only dial in the A/F ratio on the car at WOT? If I am worried about the long-term effects of running a little rich, why should I only worry about time spent at WOT up to redline, because I don't spend a whole lot of time there comparatively..
I mean, there is no way that the VAFC can be tuned at every single throttle input and RPM through the range, so why go through the trouble?
I have no intention of going standalone, so if I get the car dyno-tuned, it is going to be with a VAFC.
What do you guys recommend? I am looking to straighten out the A/F ratios through the rev range so that I can gain a little power, and more importantly get some MPG back....
Thanks for some help,
Jon

vafc can be tuned in wot and part throttle.
you can also choose how much (%) throttle between the two.
for ex. part throttle 30% wot 50%.
vafc will not change settings until 30%. then at 30% vafc will set it to where you set the parameters, same once you reach 50%. so in a sence you have 3 t/b position you can set it.
i assume you do road corse or autoX.depending on how rich or lean your ecu is. you can set both wide open and part throttle.

Anybody else have something to say about VAFC?
Is it worth me going in for tuning with only I/H/C/E?
With my minor mods, will the A/F ratio be off by that much at all at any level of partial throttle?

I would too, except for the fact that the cost is outrageous to get everything set up. I'd have to go back to an OBDI ECU, which includes buying a harness, and then you have to buy the Hondata.
I dunno if you remember the thread in GDD, but I have vowed to 'quit' spending money on this car.
I don't know if I can justify spending the $275 for 2 hours of tuning at Colletti for the likely minimal adjustments to the A/F ratio at the RPM's that I'm driving damn near all the miles on this car....
Anybody with basic bolt-ons let me know if your A/F ratio's were far from optimal at low, partial throttle levels?

I know all the Expo stuff is being posted up now, but I would sure appreciate some input from people that have dealt with tuning, etc
Glad the Expo was awesome, I wish I could have made it this year again.

obd2 = partial throttle self adjusts to ensure correct fuel ratio... i.e. you can not adjust the partial fuel to improve mileage.

yes. just make sure your tuner knows what they are doing and thy have (and use) a wide band o2 sensor.
header + cat = changes on my car.

my on track gas mileage went from ~8.5/9 to 10/11
only at wot.

Thanks Willard.
So unless you are at WOT the VAFC is changing nothing, right?
How do VAFC settings fare with quick throttle and RPM changes as seen in autocrossing?
