#01-0154 Dyno session results.
This past weekend I drove down to P1 for some MD 'roller action'. I gave Yack a call on his celley and told him to hop in the 'Lear' and fly to the south side of Charlotte for a tuning session.
At the dyno:
Here is the final plot:
(note Mustang Dynos read lower than Dynojet dynos)

+6 hp and +0.4 ft-lbs using the VAFC for tuning.
Mods:
-p/s belt removed
-VAFC
-JDM header
-2.5" SMSP cat
-air filter sitting outside of the box
The first run was with the VAFC zeroed out:
(note the a/f reading and it's path (green line))
The last run was with the final VAFC settings:

I also had to have some fun while I was there...
1/4 mile stunnas unite!
My thoughts on dead CATS...
My first SMSP cat died a while back (had a rattle)... so I was leary of getting a new one. The current one was installed and the car was tuned with the VAFC... this cat has ~8,600 miles on it (5 track events included) and not rattles at all.
My VAFC has negative settings from ~6,500 all the way to redline. I suggest strapping your car to a dyno and checking the a/f ratio to see if you have any issues.
I thought my second SMSP cat was dead due to a rattle... I did some looking around under the car and found the bracket was broken.
Quick fix... we-todd-didness.
FYI... this is my last Dynojet session to compare (same mods):

Forgot to add:
Yack used the OBD2 port to check/monitor a few things to ensure similar dyno pulls.
-ECT (water)
-IAT (air)
-long term fuel trim
-short term fuel trim

), I'll let her loose on the Mustang. And get someone who knows how to drive run the quarter

Strap her down and check... every car will be different.

I don't know if they're all the same, but the mustang dyno I've been tuning on the for the past 2 years had a correction factor (to convert to dynojet #'s) around 1.1.
