could be a little pricey trying to get a new motor, I would try getting a used one with low miles on it.

Contact your local Acura dealership.

you can walk into your local acura dealer parts dept. and order one, they'll have the price for you.
i have seen it done before, some guy bought the assembled block, assembled head and full tranny, and dropped it into his gsr.
i think it was under 15k?

I'd just rebuild your C1 and beef up the suspension and you'll be happy with the auto-x performance.

Putting an ITR motor in a GSR bumps you to a Modified class automatically, where your car will be outclassed.

Not a wise move.

I'd have to agree, rebuild that motor and toss in a few upgraded items... will be "like new" again.

Keep in mind that he's setting his car up for autox.

Autox guidelines are very strict.

It's more fun to be competitive in your class, instead of getting beat down every month.

I agree 100%. Modified class is probably the hardest to score high in, mainly because there are so many racers in the modified class. And to speak from my own experience, I have never been in the top 5 in modified class, ever. If my ambitions were purely auto-x, I would have chose other options instead of an ITR swap. A modified class miata is almost unbeatable if you are a honda...

Also, I believe you have to rebuild with OEM GSR (or equivilent) parts to still run in stock class.

If you truly want to get into auto-x, buy a rulebook, and then read what restrictions you have in stock class. Then aim from there.

WHAT? you mean some classes are very strict BUT others are very open as to what mods are allowed... plus we dont know what other mods he has or will do in order to be competitive. Street Mod is fun for me, even was fun in my GSR sedan that was in SM for big brakes, chip, cams, suspension, slicks, etc.

and my answer for autox future plans are build what you want and then go see what class you are in. *Unless you are prepping an autox ONLY car.... aka a trailer *****.
