Default For those with JDM Shift Boots...

Does the stock 97-98 shift **** fit into it like does the USDM one or did you have to modify the **** base to get it to get it to accept it?

Just got a JDM boot off a fellow H-T member and am trying to determine if I got the correct part. # is 83414-ST7-Z10ZA

If this is the correct part #, are they not designed for the **** to "click" onto the shift boot like it does on the USDM version?

I know, no big deal, but I was expecting it to fit like the stock boot.

thanks

Is doesn't click like the 97-98 shift **** boots. I have the same setup...JDM shift boot and 98 ITR leather ****. Just screw the shift **** all the way down and it will look fine. I'll try to get some pics later.

okay... I took the metal piece from the stock boot and switched it with the plastic piece that comes in the JDM boot. It's held onto the underside of the boot with ties wraps. After the switch, my boot/shiftknob now looks like the one in the picture. I little more hassle than I was expecting, but I like the end result.

What is everyone talking about?
The JDM shift boot is just like the OEM ITR boot, but with red stiching! It was just like any other bolt on replacement. I'm glad that I had the Helms manual to assist me with taking my console off. Would of never known where all the bolts was located with out breaking the plastic panels. If you want to compare? I'll take pictures for you guys!

what year ITR do you have? for 00-01, this is not an issue because of the different shift **** that they have.

I guess, that way I didn't have a problem, because I own a 2K ITR.
