Default Starting Problems.

My DC2 seems to be having problems starting at the moment. Its really cold here in the uk but she wasnt like it last year. It doesnt seem to fire up straight away sometimes.

Anybody got any pointers its done 50k miles now and I dont think her plugs, rotor arm or cap have ever been replaced. Should these be replaced at about this mileage? Unless its my battery.

If you having hard starting when the engine is cold (i.e. sat overnight) you might be having problems with fuel pressure. If any of the seals on the fuel system start to leak a bit - you are going to lose pressure in the lines and have cold start problems.

In the meantime - let the car sit for a few seconds with the key in the "on" position before you start the car (until the warning beeps stop) and let the fuel pump build up pressure in the lines - then crank. See if that helps.
