Default Speedo Problem.......

After thinking my clutch was slipping I tried to duplicate the problem last night and I did it. Clutch does not slip between each shift so I take it to 90mph, easily put it in 4th and gas it for a 4th gear pull. Everything is fine, car pulls hard all the way from 6k to 8k, but at 98mph on the Speedo the needle stops! The car still accelerates hard to redline which should be just shy of 120 in 4th! What would be the reason for the Speedo to stop at 98mph, eventhough the car is still gaining speed??

It is not to complicated from the speed sensor in the tranny and the signal up to the cluster. What could be causing this??

I'm gonna guess its the gauge. Take out the cluster and see if there is resistance when you move it to 98 with your finger.

I am going to try many things, i am not a fan of taking the car to the damn dealer so that all the techs can make comments about, "this is not a race car , so whats the problem"!

There was some sort of recall on some Integra gauges. My speedo would stick at certain speeds because of a messed up spring. Funny thing was it would only do it when it was hot outside, go figure. The dealer replaced it free of charge.

I really do not want a new gauge cluster. Makes the car loose value if u ask me. Having to tell someone yes the cluster was replaced so that milelage is not exactly correct, but iknow when it was changed. Sends out an automatic shady signal to a potential buyer eventhough it is totaly legit!
