Default Shutting down a ECU code?

How is that a mechanic guy can shut down a code the ECU is throwin' without resetting the computer or disconnecting the battery terminal? Did he used the service plug to do this or the two wire plug to read the codes? I don't think it's good.

Me wondering...

A non-Acura mechanic? Hmm, couldn't tell you, but as long as the code is gone the car doesn't know the difference.

Yup, a non-Acura mechanic, as far as I know. I don't like the idea, 'cuz if this is possible to do, the user and the ECU won't be able to monitor that part of the engine performance.
