Re: Review of 28mm rotor and NSX calipers (Big Phat R)
Does anyone know if the new NSX calipers will still fit the ITR...The newer model of the NSX has powder coated goldish/bronze calipers. I'm just wondering if they changed the mounting any or the rotor thickness or anything like that, more so than the old one????
Thanks,
Aj

calipers = 250 used for two
Brembo rotors = 75 bucks each
pads = same as stock usually ~150 or so per set- depends on what you use - I use some crazy Italian Techno Freno SpA race pads which are expensive but very good
fluid = ? I get Motul cheap
And yes the calipers fit under 16s easily (they fit under 15's why wouldn't they?) Is that a trick question or something?

can just use legend rotors with the nsx calipers? how do they compare with the brembo rotors? i was thinking of either getting some legend rotors from autozone or try out some zeal 24 slit rotors.
anyone had any experience with these?

They ARE Legend rotors made by Brembo (OEM replacements).
Brembo makes OEM replacement rotors for all kinds of cars as well as high performance braking systems.
Those Zeal rotors aren't thick enough - unless you buy the ones for the NSX. Try buying those for 75 bux!
I go through 2 sets of front rotors per year. They're a wear item - cheaper the better.

And to the above post, why is this bling bling? It's purely functional.

I'm pretty sure that the proper caiplers are from the NSX 1991-1996.

very good, and verrrry expensive
the rotor material and the way the ventilation vanes are designed help the 24 slit dissipate heat very well. ideally you should use a carbon/metallic pad with it as the rotor material is optimized for it.
on an EK hatch with ITR motor, using full ITR brake system, ITR calipers, ITR master cylinder and booster, Endless 24 slit ceramic rotor, Endless CCM pads, Endless DOT5 fluid, and SS brake lines, no fade whatsoever on a full lapping day. brakes are strong throughout the whole day. Pad and rotor wear are still excellent after two years of daily driving and several lapping days.
i think results will vary though, depending on your brake setup, braking style, etc.
otherwise, i think the NSX setup like BPR has is excellent, provided u can get it cheap. a used set of spoon calipers goes pretty cheap these days, so... all depends on price

if i didn't get the nsx caliper setup, i would get that exact same setup that the hatch has as you described. how much do ccm pads usually go for? does anyone know the thickness and weight of the endless 24 slit rotor?

Endless = expensive - even their brake pads
That's a ceramic rotor. The only cars that come with ceramic rotors that I know of are the Porsche GT2/GT3 and the Ferrari Enzo.

Jonathan,
When I tried to find 28mm Brembo's I struck out.
What was the partnumber and who'd you get them from?

Re: Review of 28mm rotor and NSX calipers (137)
Good review. Would it be possible to move the stock front brakes to the back to even out the brake balance or would that be too much brake for the back?

45251-SP0-E00 Disk (Legend w/ Type-2 Motor)
NunRacer: that would be too big a brake caliper for the rear - they would just lock up all the time.
In a FF car - about 80% of the weight of the car is on the front wheels during braking.
