i never said they we're "new". i said its the second time we have ever run those exact wheels.
there was no damage, no curb marks or any visable damage or crack when we got the wheels over a year ago. if there was nothing wrong with them back then, somthing must of happened when we got possesion of them.

Did you guys buy them used? If yes, how do you know the history of the wheels (number of races, off tracks, contacts, etc.)?
I think people needs to be VERY careful when they choose to run a cast wheel that the style is replicated from a forged wheel. The spokes shape and thickness were designed based on the forged material (much stronger), therefore they could be made thin. If the same design was used with a cheaper and much weaker method (casting), don't be surprised if it breaks on you like that.
Glad to hear that the driver wasn't hurt tho.

Re: (Wai)
yeah, we bought them used from another honda challenge racer.
i dont know the history, i know they were used for two seasons before we got them but i dont know how many sessions or races are on them.
i dont see an issue with them being used, or having previous races on them. we inspected them and all four were fine. we tested on them at infineon a week before the race, so maybe they started to crack then. before our saturday race we didnt notice any cracks damage, not saying there wasnt any.
as you said, we're glad our driver and car are ok. luckily we had a spare set of rims so we could finish out the rest of the weekend.

Uuughhh :slaps forehead: The truth finally comes out, obviously many others were mislead when they were stated to have been used TWICE before, not two whole seasons by someone else and the history is completely unknown

Re: (KOALA YUMMIES)
If you want great lightweight and cheap track day wheels go for TeamDynamics Pro Race 1
They are used in the BTCC
They arenīt the lightest wheels on the market but the relation cost quality is great
I have a set and some friend of mine have them too and till know 0 problems
Regards

True - and that's what I think I'll do - although then you're limited by the rim width.

Re: Repost: Rota C8 Owners Beware! .... (RAI 76K)
i dont think toe or camber has ANYTHING to do with the wheel breaking.
we run -2 degrees camber and zero toe. i dont think that is "bad" setup to run, its puts no extra stress or wear on the wheels.

i have team dynamics motorsports and have had no problems with them. hit a couple of pot holes back in the days and rims were still in great shape.
my car was parked on a side street, and was hit by a tow truck and the car was badly damaged, wheel also slampped into a curb causing the rear arm to bend. wheel was still in dented, but didnt wobble at all.
got it all repaird and powdercoated and still have them till today.
pretty strong rims if u ask me.
