After talking to a few people, I decided to pick up a set of ES motor mount inserts. I'm installing the rear mount right now. I removed all the bolts for the rear "metal triangle" but I can get it out.

Is there a "secret" way to removing it without disturbing the coolant line?

Thanks a bunch.

Re: rear engine mount (Tommy_Gunns)
is that rear T bracket lose? once it's loose, the mount WILL come out. I took off all the bolts and messed with it for 30 min trying different ways and it finally came out. there is 4 bolts btw, 1 going through the mount, 2 at the bottom next to each other, 1 holding the T bracket to the motor.

Yes, the T bracket is what I call the triangle piece. I have not unbolted the 3 bolts that mount the little piece to the chassis, I thought I could get by without removing this piece (cause it looks like a bitch to get at)

Re: rear engine mount (TypeR 599)
Let me tell you what I did to get mine in.
I cut the back insert in half (exactly the middle from top to bottom). The I rocked the mount forward or down to put in the top half, then pulled the mount or pushed it up to install the bottom pieces.
All I did was loosen the 1 main screw holding the mount onto the chassis and loosen both bottom mounts, obviously to install those mounts as well. Have a good day, the mounts are still perfect.\

Re: rear engine mount (Alpha_GSR)
I did mine the last time I went through a clutch, and we had both pass side mounts off, dropped the motor a little w/ the jack, and as one person muscles the motor around, you just have to wiggle and move untill it comes out.... It goes in alot easier....

Re: rear engine mount (TypeR00_0371)
You know I tried getting that triangle bracket out when doing my friend's SOHC VTEC swap last weekend, and it wouldn't come out. We just pulled the old motor out and let the bracket drop to the floor. However when we got the other motor in, I was able to slide it in place easily. I don't know why I had such trouble trying to get it out before. But I bet it's more difficult on a larger B-series engine.

Re: rear engine mount (.RJ)
it's a pain in the *** to get the tranny bracket bolts off because they're soo damn tight on. get a LONG steel tube to help turn the wrench

the rear mount is just a pain in the *** because of the weird angles you gota put your arms and tools in the get things out.

Re: rear engine mount (.RJ)
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I got the bitch in without needing to cut the mount. I will post up how I did it later tomorrow if I have energy.
