Radio Code
Hey guys, just bought an 01 PY ITR which I will make a thread later with pics to introduce myself, but unfortunately the previous owner had lost track of the code and I was wondering what my options were? Ive tried calling the local stealerships and all they could tell me was to bring in the car so they can take out the heaunit and then charge me an insane amount to give me the code. Any suggestions other than to take out the HU myself and bring it to the dealer?
Pull the radio and write down the serial number. If you call the dealer and provide the serial number and your VIN, they should look up the radio code for you free of charge. If they don't, call a different dealer or ask a member here.
search... you can introduce yourself etc, but if u dont search u will get torn apart
but im not a dick and will help.
1 look around near glovebox area etc
2 owners manual books
3 take the unit out bring it to them and have them get u the code, it should be free if u take it out yourself, if not call acura corp

I did search...in the ITR forum. The previous owner made it pretty clear he didnt have it anyways. Ive looked all over the car and manuals etc. As I stated in the first post, I am well aware of the method of getting the serial # off of the HU to bring to the dealer. I was hoping for a easier, less troublesome method. I appreciate all the help guys...guess Im gonna have to pull the HU out.

I know for a fact that some of them have the security code there.

Thanks to everyone offering to help me get the code! I was too tired to take the HU out but I did look in the glovebox and I did see a sticker on the inside. It says 97A501571. Let me know if that works. There also a series of numbers etched in the glovebox as well. I can post that if the numbers above dont work out. Thanks again!
