Maybe you should let your car warm up, vtec only works when the engine ISN'T cold.

Take it in to the dealer.

Tell him that the VTEC doesn't engage as hard in 1st as it does in the higher gears (like 4th, 5th).

If he doesn't believe you just show him your timeslips compared to those of other ITRs with similar mods. If your car is significantly slower, than something is obviously wrong.

I had a similar problem with my car, the V-Tech in 3rd gear just wasn't as strong as it was when I had under 1000 miles on the car. The dealer took care of it for me.

oil pressure sensor...not warmed up or low on oil would effect it.

you need to get one of these..you plug it into your cigarette lighter socket and it runs a full diagnostic on your VTECH problem..it can also control NOS!!!
