My clutch was replaced entirely under warranty back in December. Everything was fine early on. But, since I have a 2nd car, my ITR doesn't get driven very often. I usually attend lapping days twice a month, and on occasion, drive it around. On average, I'd say it sits in my garage for 10-14 days at a time, before I drive it again.

Last week, it was nice, so I decided to drive it. As soon as I pressed the clutch pedal, and then depressed it, there was a loud, clicking noise. So, similar to pumping the brakes, I pressed/depressed for about 10-12 times to see what was going on, and then the sound went away.

The next day, same scenario, except, after 3-4 attempts, the noise was gone. By Wed, everything was fine, and I drove the car all of last week and things seemed fine after that.

Then, today, after the car sat undriven for a week, same noise. And, after a few presses/depresses, the clicking noise was gone. The clutch grabs perfectly fine, just like a new clutch would. I can change gears without any problems.

Is there something in the clutch system that may be caused by the car sitting around too much? Should I drive it every 3-4 days? I'm not quite sure what's going on here, any assistance would be appreciated.

 

I think we discussed this a few months ago and came to the possible conclusion of a throwout bearing or sumtin? But a lot of us have the "click" but it does nto seem to effect the car.
