overheating proble, help quick

Default overheating proble, help quick

can anyone tell me or tell me how to bleed the coolant system. since my itr keeps overheating.. i add water be its keeps doing it. i change the thermostant and the same problem.. a friend of mines told me that my car has an air pocket... that i gotta bleed the system but i not sure how to... can anyone help me on that

I think you just open the radiator cap, turn the car on, and let the bubbles "air out" of the system that way...keep adding coolant until its full and no more bubbles are coming out. correct me if im wrong...

i did that already but the car keeps overheating...and the hoses doesn't get hard, when the car its on.. they stay soft all the time

Pop some viagra in there.

Does the temparature just climb or does it fluctuate?

it takes a while for the temperature to start getting hot..

My best guess...
The coolant isn't circulating because of an air pocket (like he said) .

1. Slide the heater temperature control lever to maximum heat...
...
7. ... Fill the tank (reservoir) halfway to the MAX mark with water, then up to the MAX mark with antifreeze.
...
9. Pour coolant into the radiator up tot eh base of the filler neck.

10. Start the engine and let it run until it warms up (the radiator fan comes on at least twice)
11. Turn off the engine. Check the level in the radiator, add coolant if needed.
12. put the radiator cap on tightly, then run the engine again and check for leaks.

Helms p 10-6, 10-7

That's all there was in the "Engine Coolant Refilling and Bleeding" section. <shrug>
