Default OT what's the deal with unfriendly R owners?

Almost all the R owners i see in my area, except for one, are all punks. They don't understand the courtesy of a thumbs up or a quick whats up. Of course all these people I'm referring to are relatively young. And you know they aren't your average R owners when they have altezza tail lights.

Also this brings up another issue of how I see more and more kids getting R's. These ricer's must be getting our cars second hand, because I haven't seen such a large population of R's in the hands of the misled. It straight pisses me off.

It is a Honda. So all of the ricers that like Hondas want our cars. The ones that can afford them will buy one and do the same silly stuff that the next ricer would do to an 88 CRX.

what are you talking about, get the hell out of here...j/k

most ITR owners are unfriendly because of all the people that ask is that A real R, or why would you spend 24k on a FWD car, that does 15's in the 1/4, shoulda got a camao, so I guess when you meet a rude ITR owner it is because we are sick of people asking about it,

well thats my reason fo being pissed off when some 16 year old in a civic asks me, he is that a Type R, i heard they wernt that fast, thats why the director left them out of fast and furious...does it have NOS

Yeah, there are definitely four groups...

1. mature R owners who tend to be the 1st owner of their car.
2. mature R owners as the 2nd owners.
3. spoiled punks w/ altezzas as the 1st owners.
4. ricers w/ altezzas as the 2nd owners.

Almost all ITR owner's that I've met in my area are . I even met a guy for the first time on the freeway and we just pulled into a gas station and just chatted for 30 minutes.

I own a ITR, and I'm 19, does that automatically make me a punk? I have 2 other friends that own ITR's that are 19. Does that make them punks as well? It doesn't matter what the age of the person is, I personally think I'm very mature. My car does not have anything that you would consider rice on it, neither does any of my friends. If the person who's driving the car is antidisestablishmentarianismy, then he'll be antidisestablishmentarianismy if he's young or old. I personally like giving people the thumbs up, or peace sign after we race, or if I consider their cars to be nice. Just let those antidisestablishmentarianismy R owners be, they'll know what's up when they get their asses handed to them by a GSR or SI, because they don't know the first thing about driving their ITR's.

I have to admit when I first got the car, I didn't know poo poo and was all about 10 second 1/4 miles and shiet . But, getting slapped around on the forum a couple times made me mature real fast, and I returned from the dark/rice side

hey where in the bay area are you at? i too feel the same way sometimes. I go to school at UC Berkeley (4th year) I've seen a few PY ITR's around here, and i try to give em thumbs up but they just sit in their pimp lean. Maybe they're jealous of my CW heheh i don't think it's ITR owners who are unfriendly, i just think that there are some people who are unfriendly and unfortunetley some of them happen to own an ITR. if you give me thumbs up you'll be sure to get one back!

.........quite being so damn bitter...................quite being so bitter.........
no comment... do you run a spell-checker software company by a chance? j/k.

not all 17, 18, 19 y.o. R drivers are immature, but you'd be surprise at the # of immature teeange R drivers vs. mature ones. I was a punk at that age too and almost killed myself 2-3 times being a nerd in a GS-R & a 'lude Si. (Most) People grow smarter and mature as they age... there's just no denying about that.

All the poster was saying was how there are _unfriendly R owners_ who does not appreciate other fellow R owners. Those people suck.

I hope you are not stereotyping.. I am the youngest R owner on this board at 17.. I will be 18 in July, you can ask any Bay Area R owners whom I have met, and see if they tell you that I am a punk. I really don't like the fact that you older guys (I am not stereotyping all, just ones like this guy) clown on us young R owners for having the same car. Sure I am 17 years old, does that mean I am going to rice out my R? Does that mean that I am misled and don't know what I am driving? I don't think so... So before we all start stereotyping about the youthful R onwers, lets keep our mouths shut.

I am 19 as well..........for all you older members.........quite being so damn bitter........the R is a nice car but it isn't really that expensive.........that is the reason why younger people drive them...........quite being so bitter.........its not my problem you don't have the cash for say an M3 or an NSX............I'm 19 ........ I pay for everything on my car ...........I own an internet software company and make damn good money for my age..........it pisses me off when all the older members hate on the younger members and automatically assume mommy and daddy bought them their R........my 0.02

Default Haha, let me use my psychology studies on this one

What the heck do all these ITR owners think? And even some of the other jap car owners. A lot of people in my town are stuck up as hell. You may have an ITR and so........? It's not like you own a Skyline or anything, jeesh. And no one has repect or anyone. It's hard to find people who just enjoy cars as machines and not as coolness meter. These are the same type of people who think that what they drive is the best car in the world. haha, what dorks.

Im from SF. and no im not trying to stereotype all the young bucks out there. actually im only 20'ish myself.

Don't take offense. I only meant to complain about the unfriendly R owners. It was just my observation that most of these unfriendly people were also young.

I'm young, (18) and take no offense in what was stated by a few members here. I know that i'm not some punk kid so why bother arguing about this?
