OT: anyone using a generic digital A/F gauge like this?
Im looking for something simple like this, just a digital read out of the A/F ratio. Most of the displays out on the market come with wideband built in but I dont need that because I have the wideband already installed. Ive used other LED type gauges before but Id rather have a digital display. Anything I should be wary of if I wanted to run something like this off my wideband?
Thanks

I don't see any "problem", but it looks like it's only a 3 digit display for the voltage.
What is the relationship between that "voltage" and the actual A/F ratio?
P.S. I just bought one of the AEM wideband units w/gauge.

well theres all kinds of different gauges like the one I posted. you can get gauges that input the voltage and output the A/F.
Im running the AEM WB already, and they dont have just the gauge available and wont have it available until late this year. I wish they did b/c there guauge is set up really nice with LED and LCD readouts.

I just opened my package from P1 (with the AEM wideband) and I did get and have the Black faced on black housing gauge.
Looks like they're just becoming available and Jack may still have a couple left (of his recent incoming order). HTH Ed

yeah but doesnt it already have the WB built in and its like $400? I just need the display, I dont need the WB. Ill hit up Jack and see what hes got to say.

Re: (92TypeR)
well there is always the Nordskog unit. they make nice stuff at reasonable prices too
http://www.nordskogperformance.net/m9200.html
the discription says it come in 2 5/8 size but it also comes in the 2 1/6 model #m9200 and the m9200 is cheaper. you can order it in amber to match you itr lighting

It looks like most(all) of these gauges only display the voltage readings. .500 = 14.7 a/f that would get kind of annoying. Im not sure if I can calibrate it with my EMS to output the a/f reading or not.

haha that must have driven him kinda nutty.
apparently the gauge/wb combination is a function of the stand alone thats used. So as long as you have a calibration table for the WB, if you tap into the O2 wire from the stand alone you should get an actual a/f reading off the WB instead of a voltage reading. but thats ONLY if you have a current WB set up that reads a/f and not voltage. :shrugs: there are some nice little gauges out there that are relatively cheap

Re: (RTW DC2)
You might be able to find some data for a Bosch wideband O2 on the web.
That would essentially be the "calibration table" you mentioned, and just compare the O2 voltages you get with the table to determine the A/F.
Hehe ... but it looks like you already know that.
Hows this for a quick Google search?

Ed, yeah I know about the TechEdge, but it comes with a WB, not just the gauge AFAIK.
92TypeR, do u know if that one needs to be calibrated so it reads a/f instead of voltage? or is it already set up to calibrate the a/f just by hooking it up to the O2 wire off the ECU?

I'm not 100% certain on that, I'll take a look this weekend and see if the plugs on the meter are equivilent to the 5wire. I know, at least on the cars I've played with that have that meter, it is plugged into the FJO controller box. But as I said, not 100% certain it can be used directly off of O2 voltage, but I'll do my best and see if it appears to work like that.
