Optional OEM kit?
i'm trying to find this optional kit for my integra, but i can only find them in fiberglass. are they all made of fiberglass or do they come in urethene too? won't call acura they ask way too much. any help or links to where i can get one would be great.
The actual OEM peices are urethene, not fiberglass, but are also very hard to come by, and generally more expensive than the knock-off fiberglass versions. If you find an actual OEM version, consider yourself lucky. Call your local dealerships, but most of them in the country are sold out. Other than a dealership, check classifieds, and watch Ebay frequently.

Isn't urethane a flexible polymer (even lightly "spongy"), and this is NOT the material that the stock ITR lips are made of.
While the stock lips are not fiberglass, they are made of a thin, stiff plastic (possibly polystyrene or something similar). Ed

I've owned 2 OEM kits:
both Kits I've had(Old 2000 GSR had OEM kit) and my ITR now and the Front lip is def Ureathane but the skirts are Very Hard almost Fiberglass...
I think they are FRP (F:iberglass R:einforced P:lastic) cuz they are nothing like other Urethane Kits i've owned(*STillen Sideskirts for my 350Z,Mugen Rep WWest sides).
I even had to ruin one set of OEM sides when I had the WWest sides (to match MUGEN bumper),because you have to use your stock skirts to mount the WW's correctly and I didn't have stock units. I had OPT OEM ones...so we had to cut the side flap(that sits on the side of the car) off to hide it under the WW ones. They are very HARD!
The Rears are the same way,..I dropped one and it even "sounds" like Fiberglass.
def not muffled sounding like 100% Urethane when it hits the ground.
ITR Stock front lip is Def 100% Urethane. You can twist it all around but the sides are ALOT stiffer & Thinner!
***I've owned 2 kits and 1 was On the car when I bought it BRAND Spankin New in 1999 so I know what I'm talking bout.
unless both kits I've owned are Fakes

Urethane is a spongy type substance (i.e., it has "give" if you squeeze it).
The "stock" original OEM lips are very thin plastic with no sponget give, and bolt up to the lower front facia.
Yes, I'm beginning to believe either both of your were fake ... or you just don't know what "urethane" is!

Your right about Urethane. You can seem to almost Stab w/ your nail.
I've owned quite a bit of Urethane Kits(as well as Fiberglass and FRP=Veilside 350Z lip) and now that you mention it,..the Front lip USDM or JDM is not anything like my (old) REAL "Urethane" STILLEN Side skirts I had on my 350Z or the Wings west sides on my old GSR.
Its pretty hard but you can twist it a tad.
The Sides Skirts on the other hand I know are Hard Plasticy sounding.Espically when you bang on them w/ something Metal.
Proveing that the SKirts and Rears are Diffrent then the Lip.
my old RSX-S Opt OEM kit was all like the ITR front lip though.(same Material whatever it is)
