Ben from A&J has the OS Giken single plate. It's really noisy but good for up to 300 whp. Never heard of the other kind.

I have the OS Giken Super Single. It's a single metal disc with a lightened flywheel and it's actually good for 400hp!

I had the OS Super Single Plate for about 6 months. Performance wise, it's really good. Street wise, it's a pain in the A$$. Very heavy and noisy and the engagement point is really low. Everyone who tried my car the first time would stall at least 2 to 3 times. I eventually had enough of it and took it out and replaced it with the Exedy.

if you think the single is bad you should try driving with a triple or quad plate. These clutches are like on/off switches for body builders but nothing compares to their clamping force!

I can get you guys both Ogura and OS Giken clutches. But OS Giken in my opinion is the best of the two. As OS Giken is normally seen on the track though Ogura is seen alot as well.

Cusco also sells OS Giken made super single and twin plate setups. ATS clutches are probably the best but the best always come at a higher price!

I didn't know the Cusco clutches were OS Giken because my dealer's catolog doesn't state it..just goes to show you not everyone makes there own parts and most don't admit it. Does anyone make Hydro electric clutches tha same ones that are used in the WRC Evo's and WRX's?

I have the Cusco OS Giken and I have been selling them. They work pretty good for track but they are not too practical for street cuz the pedal is VERY heavy!!!
ATS is not a bad idea at all ,the thing is they don't have any springs on the disk
but OS does have 6 springs on the clutch disk.

ATS carbon disc doesn't need the springs because the disc engage really smooth.
The OS super single is $990 and the Twin is $1300~$1700(depends on your application).
you guys are wimps! Not only am I running a OS Single but I also have 20kg/16kg Zeals.... ! You guys would have a heart attack if you drove any of my friends WRX's, GTR's, Supra's or RX-7's. All of them have atleast a twin plate and two of the GTR guys have quads(1000hp cars).

Re: Ogura or OS Giken Clutch ? (drealgsr)
How long have you been running the os giken? I hear really good things about it, especially the twin disc. Do you think the Twin disc is streetable? My buddy told me the Venom Civic had this clutch for 1 1/2 seasons and that it held up real good, until they stepped up to the tilton carbon fiber twin disc.

I've been using my OS single since last November and right now I am debating if I will upgrade to a twin or ATS twin when I install the new engine in December.

Re: Ogura or OS Giken Clutch ? (PrjctDC2-R)
My question is do you really need a clutch that can hold 400hps when in fact most of you don't even have 250hps for most NA ITR?
I know the Ogura and OS Giken clutch is nice and cool, but why not just get the TODA or Spoon flywheel/clutch combo. They will also do the job and it won't be as tough driving it daily on the street? Also, I think they are cheaper too.

Re: Ogura or OS Giken Clutch ? (SpoonCivic)
my intrest is Wear, how streetable (while still doing a good job at the track), and price.... being able to hold 300-400hp is not a important to me, since i dont have plans to run that kind of hp.

I think I would take a look at the Toda clutch kit instead.....
full face with springs...
I personally use a Spoon hybrid.....great for my intentions of 80% daily driver and the rest just bagging around.....

Re: Ogura or OS Giken Clutch ? (AJ PwR)
when you buy an OS Giken/Cusco/Ogura/ATS super single it comes complete with a lightened & balanced flywheel, Pressure plate, Disc and aftermarket throw out bearing. If you haven't experienced you shouldn't talk smack! I hate bandwagon bimbos. These clutches handle more power and they also last a lot longer than pretty much any other single setup! The Super singles are geared toward tuned street cars and they leave lots of room for future power upgrades. Why buy a clutch that is good for 220~250 crank hp when when that mark can be easily apexed.....
This wasn't aimed at anyone in particular!!..

Re: Ogura or OS Giken Clutch ? (drealgsr)
Anyone know how much whps can the TODA flywheel and clutch hold? If it can hold 220whps, then I think that is what I am going to get. Ogura, OS Giken, ATS, and Cusco is very nice, but they are just too expensive for my taste and the extra 100whps capacity would never be useful for me unless someone can tell me the sercet formula for a 400whps 1.8L NA Honda engine.
Also, is those clutch design more toward racing application? If so, will they wear out faster and won't live up to their potential in the normal daily stop and go traffic?
