Need help with a problem
Today i brought my car to the dealer for a service and also to find out why there's vibration sound coming from my shifter. It turns out that whoever installed my alarm added a metal plate just below the shift boot housing and the screws they use to drill the plates in were touching the shift linkage hence causing the rattling noise. The dealer of course do not want to touch it because they don't want to hold responsible. I'm not familiar with alarm mechanics.. but should a metal plate be underneath my shifter at all? The service guy told me he sees no point in having this metal plate installed. I guess my only option is to take it back to the alarm place in which case i'm sure they'll deny responsibility. Sorry i can't give a better description of this "metal plate". Should i just bring it to somewhere and have someone remove it? thanks......
do you have a multi-loc on your shifter? Or maybe they ran wires under the console and held it down with that plate so it wouldnt tangle up the shifter. Whatever the reason is.......no metal plate should be screwed under shiftboot and I suggest getting a new installer
