Default need help diagnosing problem...

Hey guys...I just wanted to get your opinions on this situation that I'm having with my car. Anyways, it's been going on for awhile now but it happened again last night. I was at the dragstrip last night and after each pass my mph goes down more and more; I'm getting better E.T's after each run (faster and faster after each run) and my launches and mid range times are all getting better...the problem is that after each run despite all the other improvements, my top end and final trap speed is decreasing. And it's decreasing by a lot....by the end of the night my trap speed will decrease by 3 mph, though my E.T's are getting better from better launches and midrange power. I dunno what it is...only thing I can think of is that I'm using some crappy oil and it's just not holding up through the night...what do you guys think? Thanks a bunch.

wasn't the point of drag racing to have a lower ET? Slicks give you better ET's and lower trap speeds too. High trap speeds can indicate too much wheelspin.. who really cares what your trap speed is?!?

yeah, but I shouldn't be losing mph as the night goes on unless something isn't holding up in the car.

This is not true at all. A better launch with less wheelspin and more traction will produce a LOWER trap and faster ET.

Thanks for the opinions guys....it's appreciated. But for the finals word...is it normal or is something probably going bad though the night (ie. my oil not holding up)....???

I am a little confuse as well but for different reason. Isn't the "trap speed" the instantanious reading of the speed at the end of the 1/4 mile run?

Why would a better launch and lower ET equate to a lower final speed ?
For a given car with given gear set-up, if the 1/4 time is lower then the speed should be higher. Or am I mixed up in the terminologie ( I am not a 1/4 mile racer)

Okay...this is what is happening:

first run: ~15.2 @ 91 mph 60ft. ~ 2.3
second run: ~ 15.134 @ 90 mph 60ft. ~ 2.281
third run: ~ 15.101 @ 89 mph 60ft. ~ 2.276
4th fun: ~ 15.030 @ 88.783 mph 60ft. ~ 2.252

---E.T's are getting better with each run; launches are getting better with each run; midrange is pulling harder through each run; MPH is slowing down though.
From what i've learned this is normal. Right guys? Is this normal or not????

thats what i was wondering.. it seems like low trap speed for type r.. 2.2x is good for for ~15.0 run.. what are your trapspeeds like from other days?

so far it seems about right..

It usually around the same...but the same thing happens. I will start out with my fastest trap and then gradually it will get slower but with better launches and better E.T's.
