Default Lumpy Idle

Quick run down, I've changed everything from the fuel filter, primary o2 senor, ignition control module, spark plugs, cleaned out the ivac. I'm still having the lumpy/low idle, a/c on or off, lack off power throughout the entire rpm band, speedo that goes crazy sometimes, CEL is still blinking/on, it sounds like a WRX on 3 cylinders. I haven't changed the secondary o2 senor and the spark plugs, or seen if my timing is correct. I'm running out of ideas fellas. I now need your help please $400 in parts with me DIY, so far and my R ain't running right yet

Do all injectors have a "pulse"? What codes is the ECU giving?

That's what I think; do a quick compression, or better yet a leakdown, test. If all is good, I'd replace or swap the ignition wires, inspect the plugs, and listen to the injectors with a stethoscope.

I assume the CEL is a misfire? Same cylinder?

Pull out the spark plug tube and see if you have any oil residue at the end of the tube. If there is, the oil can cause the misfire. Especially if there is a lot of oil covering the spark plug. The fix would be to replace the spark plug seals underneath the valve cover.

BINGO ^^^ this! I'll look on the bright side and what I've spent money on is preventive maintenance that has been done! Thank you fellas...*note to self, do the free stuff 1st, simple money to spend to fix it & etc.

The problem came back again after I replaced the spark plug seals with new plugs, was fine for several weeks the caR ran like nothing was ever wrong. The plugs have carbon/soot on them. Cranking the caR, acceleration, turning AC on anything with load bogs the caR down. I tested the injectors and I "think" they all have a "pulse" clicking sounds. What I haven't changed/checked is the secondary o2 senor, injectors, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, & "timing" << I'm not confident about that one, compression/leakdown test.

I belived I've rueld out spark issues. The codes I'm getting is P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304 & P0500 *VSS*. I do have those thermal throttle and intkae mainfold body gaskets. I sprayed carb/brake cleaner on the throttle body and the caR almsot stalled out.

No luck with the carb/brake cleaner trick, ruling that out...

Gave it another go...Seems as though injector #1 is "pulsing" then goes silent for a brief moment then starts "pulsing" again; I had to listen several times to make sure I wasn't hearing things. Injectors 2,3, & 4 are consistent/pulsing. I did this with the AC on and off. I would appreciate, your input, it would be of great service.

Today my teacher asked me, whats the capital of North Carolina? I said Washington, D.C. (bingo!) and she told me I was wrong. I said you got a lumpy butt.

Somehow totally unrelated but related. Sounds like a misfire. Start it if you can and unplug and plug back in each injector clip at a time. If it falls and stumbles that injector is working. If there is no change, thats the one that needs attention.

Lol nice story bro...Regardless I did exactly as you said to do and all the injectors did there "dance" expect injector #1. Thank you, I'll be buying a new injector. Glad I found the root cause of my problem. Any need to follow up along with swapping injector #1 for #3 to be more certain?

lol well I'll post results once I get the new injector, and I can continue on with my build thread again
