so i was on my way home from work tonight. and as i am driving there is a car on my *** with really bright lights. he stays this way for like 2-3 miles. it is really starting to **** me off. he was close enough that the lights were under my wing(stock) and right in my eyes. so i know that it is going to be a passing zone soon. and i pass the car in front of me and the car behind me stays right on my ***. keeps this way for a mile till i get off my exit. then he hits the lights, i sort of figured it was a cop when he wouldn't pass me. he tells me that he has been following me for a while and clocked me doing 78 in a 55 when it turned into 2 lanes. he also tells me that i was tailgating the guy in fornt of me(don't think so).
i thne tell him i was going so fast cause i thought that some jerk was riding my *** with his high beams on. then back up comes. she just asked if i had ever been stopped before by them. i say no(the truth) he then comes and tells me to slow down form now on and just gives me a verbel warning. and tells me it would be like a $150 fine and 3-4 points. luckey me
i would have to say this was one of the coolest cops i have met. he was probably only like 26-29 and so was the lady. both seemed fresh to the force.

i guess why i am telling this is cause i wanted to know how accurate he was clocking me while we were moving? and would a fine for tailgating hold up since he really couldn't tell i was? and should they intoduce themeslves before hand to let me know who i am getting stopped by? at least to know if is state or local?

I got pulled over for swithing lanes with out using my indicator, and apparently the cop counted that I had done that 7 times, and explained to me that he could write me up for 7 infractions for improper lane change and continued to explain how my license would get suspended and car towed. [B]B.S.[/BS] He was out to scare a young kid in a POS beater (first car). Whatever. If you have an arguement to contest the ticket, the best way is to take it to court which sucks because you have to take time out of your life to drive out to BFE to prove your innocense.

 

as far as clocking u while moving, they have radar guns (or is it laser) that are capable of doing it. Get a radar detector, it'll save ur *** a lot, esp if u do a lot of highway driving

 

...that difficult. If he was pretty much tailgating you, then that means his speed would have to match yours, correct? The term the police use is called "pacing."

 

The best excuse you can give in your situation is:
1. Tell the truth and add that you thought the car behind you was a DRUNK GUY (aka Deuce = police terminology). And, just tell them that you wanted to give some room between you and him.
2. Out run the cruiser.

 

When the officer gets up to the window, start furiously masterbating. Gets em everytime.

 

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How is that going to "get em"?????? They might skip the speeding ticket, but they'll write you up for indecent exposure for sure!!

Alot of D*ckhead cops like to do that sh*t, ride your *** to make you screw up your line... I hate that... but just remember... in a court....you'll prolly be wrong if the cop says otherwise !
Many cops like to use their power unfairly... As far as getting your speed, they can use radar or laser... a radar detector will help in the future, but if it's a laser... you're screwed... the only use a laser detector has is to let you know you need to get out your license and registration.
Believe it or not.... in Florida, they are now training the police to judge your speed by SIGHT !!! HAHAHAHA, if this is not the biggest load of horse sh*t, I don't know what is.... the county will do anything to get mo $$$ !
He prolly 'paced' you (drive at your same speed) I got paced once, but the cop was full of it.... he said I was doing 66mph.... BS, I was doing at least 80 !

 

Perhaps the cop would like to give a hand for the job? huhuhuhu
