JDM front question: function of side makers (blinkers) and center beam on bumper?

JDM front question: function of side makers (blinkers) and center beam on bumper?
I was wondering the reason why the JDM front had side makers, appart from the fact that it comes like that from Japan. I understand the usefulness of them; for making it obvious to anyone beside us that we're changing lane or turning, but doesn't the turn signal on the lights rap around the side far enough that someone on the side of the car would know that we're turning without the need of the side marker? are the side marks a necessity in the JDM front case or just there because it comes stock like that?
also, the center beam on the OEM JDM bumper, is it necessary? is it a structural peice of the bumper or can it be removed?
these pictures might ilustrate my point a little better, I KNOW this will be "distroying" the JDM authenticity of the front but I personally think that it looks cleaner without the side markers or the center beam. I would just not connect the side marker, not use one of the bulbs and get the body shop to fill in the hole on the side pannels and also get them to cut the center beam off and finish off the sides. let me know what you think and if you could do without the side markers and if the center beam isn't structural. thanks for the feedback.

You can eliminate the 'bumper beam' as that is just an aesthetic part of the car. The bumper cover serves no structural purpose so removing it entirely will not compromise safety.

Re: JDM front question: function of side makers (JDM TypeR 508)
I don't think that either are "necessary" in terms of overall safety or functionality. The sidemarks (if wired correctly) serve as a turn signal on the side of the vehicle. This is nice as it allows cars that are possibly two lanes over to know that you are changing lanes to get closer to them. I would imagine that it would reduce the risk of changing lanes into someone, which is a good thing. Totally up to you I guess, but I like mine.

correct me if i am wrong i always thought the sidemarkers are always on. and they dont flash when your changing lanes. thats why the front blub is a single filament. well at least when i got my front end it was a single filament.

my sidemarkers are on when my headlights are on... they flash in conjunction with the turnsignal in the headlights..other than that... do whatever you want..shave your sidemarker..buy imho it looks better w/ the sidemarker and the center beam

The sidemarker on all jdm cars is a requirement just as much as our third brake light in the states is a requirement. That's just the rules over there. And if you wire them correctly, they should blink with your turn signal and hazards. They shouldn't light up all the time.
