ITR front conversion question

Default ITR front conversion question

is there an easy way to do the conversion without getting the whole radiator support?, i heard of a t-bar support or something that you can weld to the stock bottom half is this good? or is there an easier way, i also heard you can use the DA stock radiator support is that true? thanks for any replys

u need a DA hood release..not sure on the rad support.

You can use the upper half of the jdm one, w/ the "T" portion and the lower part of the existing USDM support, but you would still need to drill out welds and re weld.

If you're gonna do it do it right, dont cut corners.

all you need fron the support is the top piece, and the piece in the middle, that makes the "t"... just drill out the spot welds on the old one, and weld the new t in...

and the only part you use from the da is the hood realease cable, its $30 brand new from the dealer

and the hood release. if you use the stock dc2 one, the lever will be backwards.

most frond end conversions should come with the hood release still attached to the radiator support.

i bought mine in pieces some new and some used so i was trying to get out the easy way, i have the hood, fenders, lights, harness, grill, front bumper with lip, bumper support and reinforcement, and and i ordered the hood and latch cable, so all i need is the T bar support now.

BTW,.everyone I know thats got the JDM stuff has never included the Hood cable and hood latch.This is my 2nd and they never come w/ that.

-90-93 Latch from Junk yard=$15
-cable new $30
-COST for doing the Conversion yourself=PRICELESS

yep,...the colored text didn't come out how I wanted it to ,..but oh well,.I haven't finished it by far! I have tons of pics of my install.
I just haven't gotten around to doing it right as well as finding a place to HOST it.So i said what the hell.

If ya need pic's of a certain part of the install(and your gonna do it yourself).Lemme know.I got tons!

doing my front today hope it comes out clean i only have the top support that the headlights bolt up to and the middle piece that the hoodlatch bolts up to anyone just used these pieces?

thats all you need,..but you will have to trim a bit off the sides where the Headlights "wrap"
