Inspection Before Track Season
This is my third year tracking the car, and this will probably be the hardest on the car, since I have more experience and I have a daily driver, so my ITR is now a track-only car for the most part.
My question to long-time track guys is, I would like to have the car fully inspected, what areas should I emphasize that the mechanic look into especially, that could be prone to more damage than other? Is there something on the ITRs that you should especially look for? In E36 M3s for example, they always tell you to check ball joints and control arms every year.
Our cars are very reliable, but not bulletproof, so if certain areas (suspension components, for example) are going to take lots of abuse, then they should be checked out first.
This is obviously not the sort of check-up you'd get when buying a used car, but rather if the car is track ready, so I want to make a list of what they should look for.
Any help/tips would be appreciated.
