alright we've all heard it before but i don't care i'll ask it anyway:
what kind of setup should i use to get 200hp to the wheels w/ my ITR motor.
keep in mind nothing to drastic. definetly nothing that requires messing w/ the block. cams is the big thing i'm interested. i so wanna get some TODA Spec B cams really don't want to get the extra stuff that goes w/ it. i also heard the Skunk2 Stage 1 cams are hot and those work w/ my exsisting valvetrain.
i know a good header, like Hytech, would be great. but i'm thinking more down the lines of DC. plus i wanna keep the compression the same. JDM i think is 11.0:1
already have aem fuel rail, sard FPR and Apex'i N1 exhaust.

someone just gimma an example setup so i can brainstorm it or something.

what are you running?

Re: the infamous question (Type RS)
don't do it til you have the money. don't half-*** it.

now IF You have the money...

Toda B's
Toda Valves/Retainers/Springs
Toda Cam gears
Hondata
SMPS/HYTECH full exhaust system

There's a start...

set the timing to 0. lean it out as much as possible. run your car HARD before smogging it. then pray.

you're so right about half-assing it. i really don't want to do that at all.
right now i have enough for the cams/springs/gears. do i really need the valves/retainers. i've been told all i need is the springs and i'll be fine. that's 3 out of 5 so far.
i've read some **** on the SMPS header. aren't they like out of VA or something and how much does there header run?
now for the Hondadata. i would so love to do this but don't have a clue about it at all. if you can fill me in that be cool. i know what it is though.
thanks

Re: the infamous question (Type R)
you may want to upgrade the valve train to something that can handle the revs. have you replaced your clutch yet? thats another good mod. it will go out strangley when you have no money. ask me.

:snail:

BTW - 009 passed NC emissions with B's. Zero'd cam gears, played with the V-AFC and passed ridiculously well.

wow kinda steep price. isn't the hytech one about the same price. if so which one is better. i remember reading a dyno sheet on the smsp header and it made awesome gains. but i don't remember seeing one for hytech.

Re: the infamous question (George Knighton)
What is the big deal with hitting 200 whp? I would rather have a gigantic mid range and torque with 190 peak than a very small midrange, less torque and 205 peak hp. If you can get both mid and peak, than that is dope. I have seen good dynos of CTR cams with USDM bottom end. Tuning is where its at though.

Re: the infamous question (blueG2)
Just go buy a Drag III kit, for the money you'll be spending on cams and everything else with significantly less power as a result.
