Default Toda Spec B cams… thoughts?

I have an opportunity to acquire a set of Toda Spec B cams. What are your thoughts on these? My car is mainly used for Daily Driving, but I plan on running a few Auto-X and Drag events this upcoming year (all for fun and my personal enjoyment).

As of right now, my Motor:
JDM 98+ Spec B18C (’00 head stamp) (no internal mods)
Walbro 255LPH
AEM fuel rail & B&M FRP
AEM Short Ram Intake
Skunk2 Alpha header
Apexi WS2 exhaust
Hondata S300v3

Parts on left over from a previous project:
Skunk2 adjustable Cam Gears
Supertech Valve Springs
Supertech Ti retainers
Supertech Valves

What would your suggestion be? (I will get it dyno tuned after the Cams are installed)

Looks like you have the proper valvetrain/ECU etc setup to run the Toda B's but they really need 11.5:1 or higher compression to get the most power out of them.

I think they are fantastic cams, even the Spec A are a nice daily driver cam, but B's will work well on your setup.

On the current setup with the Intake , exhaust, and header, did you find that you needed higher fuel pressure (more fuel) ? Just curious as I have some mild mods on my setup and I was wondering if I may need more fuel, though the cars tend to run pretty rich in factory form at WOT. Curious if you have found the need for more fuel.

B’s will be good, but you’ll need to see if your existing valvetrain can handle the work and and a retune.

They are hard on valvetrain also, and I can comment more if you like.

On the FPR; It probably wasn't needed, but did it to give my Tuner more adjustability/control.

Should I run the ITR or Supertech valve springs? Yes, a re-tune is going to be happening.

Black R, Yes please. This is a street car that gets tossed onto the track (mainly Auto-X) for some fun.

You cannot run ITR valvetrain for this camshaft (I'm a current owner of this camshaft) . The Supertech "D" part number would work. Although I'm not a fan of Supertech (an entire discussion about that isn't needed) but a GSC Beehive, Ferrea, or similar would suffice as long as the scoring seat pressure is above 70lbs.

If you don't mind me asking, whats your valve train set-up? Would you run it again?

On my GSR powered-EM1 I'm actually running the matching TODA RACING LTD valvesprings and Buddy Club retainers. I'm very happy with the setup and wouldn't change anything, except that its time for the valves to be swapped out for some ferrea 6000 series dished valves.
