Default How much is this shell worth?

I'm going to attend an auction to buy my shell back from the insurance company, can you guys give me an estimate on how much you would pay [realistically] for this shell?

It's a private company thats going to hold the auction, and it's going to be expensive.

More pictures here: http://www.skafia.com/itr/sad

$200 - Registration Fee
$20 - Gate Fee [To Pick up Vehicle]
$35 - Internet Fee [How to bid]
$20-$250 - Buyer fee [Varies, depending on final price]

WTF! Is it worth it?

1500-2500 is quite reasonable. If you look at it from the side of someone who can resell the many many parts left, it's worth a good bit still.

I think that's as high as I could justify too. I thought you weren't gonna buy back, change you mind?

Considering what's missing, or should I say 'left', I wouldn't pay more than $500 total including fees. There's just too much work to bring it back. Motor, Tranny, ecu, wiring, 5-lug, brakes, interior, fuel pump, climate control, stereo, wheels, lights, bumpers, body repair, etc...

Honestly, I wouldn't take that back. The value is gone and will never be recovered. I'd suggest finding another ITR.

That's true, that is why I said I wouldnt give more than $500 for the vehicle. It's still going to require a lot of work to make it driveable even for road racing.

Uhmm no one would be stupid enough to sell that much of an ITR for only 500, it's sad, but true. It's still worth quite more than that, hell a junkyard will sell you a sectioned qtr panel (both of which appear to be perfect on his car) for 600-650. Add in all the glass, mbc, hatch, hood, doors, fenders, other qtr panel, etc. A junkyard could part that for 3-4k, without even selling it all.

Understandable, but it's still being auctioned off and they'll get what they can take for it by whomever offers the highest bid. They're not setting a price tag for what it's worth. They could essentially sell it for $2.00 if no one else wanted the car. That, however, is not my point. The point is that Skafia intends to rebuild the car. If he has the funds to do so while the car sits up being repaired, go for it if he can. Otherwise, it might be a better investment just to buy a whole complete type r that still has value.

therefore, possibly that valuable to a junk yard, not to skafia.. he's not going to be able to part it out that way easily or quickly..

i, personally, would not pay over $500 for it..

The car is worth a lot to me. (RIP #1076)

I plan on rebuilding it as a track car with the LEAST essentials as possible. I'm going to have to already spend $200 just to participate in the damn auction. If I win, I'm going to have to pay another $55 - $305.

~$500 in fees + $500 for the ITR! That's already $1000, about what I'm going to bring... if you guys can honestly think I can get the car for around ~500-700 then I'm all for it. But if I can't, then I'm not going to risk going there and having someone else outbid me and I'm already out $200.

and i totally understand that.. same way i felt when they squished #0106 without telling me..

but how much cash will you spend because of that? to me, it sounds like it's worth the $200 to take a chance at getting it back..

I can get a JDM Front Clip, suspension, seat and a steering wheel and that's pretty much all it needs to get going [i know there's more, but those are the main items]

The money thing is really not an issue, I mean, I'm not rich or anything but that's why it's called a project car. It'll probably sit in front of my house for about 6 months before I can really start doing anything, but after that it'll be a constant project. I'm going to throw one of those "UNDER CONSTRUCTION" stickers on it :D

WIth the money your gonna dump on that POS why not buy a RS and convert the car over and with the remaining RS parts U can sell and make some of the money back. PLus you won;t have a salvage title.

because the ITR's are constructed differently from the manufacturer compared to other model integras. They are setup for track use. Not only is the suspension setup different, the sound deadening and reinforcements are different. (of course the motors/trannies are different also)
