What is the highest compression you can run on 91 octane gasoline?

 

Its all about tuning and how much ignition advance you run. Ill just say you if you want to be safe running high compression, go with a standalone like Hondata. Just my $.02

 

My goal is 190 - 200 whp,

I'm getting Toda Bs, but to get more out of them I should bump up my compression. I plan to use a chipped/ re-programmed ecu.

All I can get around here is 91 octane.

Any recommendations.

I would say a 12:1 ratio would be safe with an reprogrammed ecu or go with a stand alone ecu computer.[

 

Tuning, Tuning, Tuning! I know someone running 12.5:1 compression on 91 octane, with Hondata... And he has yet to have any problems with his motor.. and this is going on 4 months.

 

IMO dont push it ! to run 91 with no problems the most 11.5 CR with hondata maybe 12.1 CR the most .

 

How are you planning to raise the compression ratio?

 

I was planning on getting JDM ITR pistons, and hope that it will increase my compression enough to make better use of the spec Bs'

 

you will have no problems with the JDM ITR pistons and 91 octane.

 

on a b18c the most 11.1 with thinner head gasket 11.4 . milling the head i wouldnt recommend it with spec B
you should have no problems running 91 with that CR .

 

hey....where in l.a......we ran at palmdale...13.6.stock jdm itr......now with 11.4:1 CR...head work and cams we want 12's and hopefully 210whp...91 octane...we'll see

My old Mercedes ran 18:1 compression...

yeah that will make a difference you have a lighter car then mine
what was it cx,dx, vx, si???and also a little better improvement and im sure i could knock it down to at least 13.7 had a 2.0 60ft .. but i should go more often
