Default HIgher Compression

Oook, so is it worth it to "only" go up to 11.1:1 compression with the jdm type-r pistons, or go for the toda or other pistons offereing 12.3 and higher?

I need the car as adaily and i'm going to be running pump gas....

12.3:1 compression is do-able on high octane pump gas. U just have to get ur car tuned properly.

I think kingmotorsports advertizes the jdm pistons higher than 11.1

anyway I have them as well as the mugen head gasket and there is a noticable

difference. Maybe ask around and see if anyone has driven jdm and usdm

back to back

With a GSR head almost 12.5:1. That is too much for pump gas. 11-11.5:1 is tops I would go for the street. Remember when it gets hots like it is now, that thing is gonna be detonating.

I am running JDM pistons (11.1-1CR) and I only use 91 octane (all thats available in Utah) and I have had no problems with the car. I jus got 1200 miles on the rebuilt motor w/ pistons, and the low-mid range is really noticable. Well worth the $ in my opinion. And mine is also a daily driver.

im being told that in a type-r head CTR pistons will be doing 12.5 + ...altho mike (ipsracing mike) says it'll only be around 12.2??

12.5 is really damn high...if i tune it right, will I be able to make it on pump gas?? (93 octane)....

i'm trying to decide if i should go with the JDM ITR and stay mild, or just say screw it go all out and go for the CTRs....problem is i'm not going to be racing for 8 months of the 12 since i'll be at school ya know?

Alaskan - what times do you run in the 1/4?

oh yeah, what about them spoon or toda pistons?

Well I've had the 11:1 compression and never had issues.
I also have a set for sale if you are interested.
