yesterday i instaled my spoon header and high flow cat, but when i started the car
the check engine light came on..
is this to do with the o2 sensor??
or is it something else??
can anyone please help??

 

yes, double check the o2 sensor connections...

 

What kind of high flow cat are u using? If u are using a carsound cat then it is most likely the cat, but not saying 100% it is. Check the code, if it gives u a code 67 then its the cat. I have the same setup and problem.

No it should not assuming it is the cat.

yes i did and it went of for a sec, then it came back on

What code are you getting?

 

Most than likely your O2 sensor needs to be replaced. Happened to my Bro's ITR after JDM header install and Catco Cat. Check engine light took it to Acura and Acura said it was the O2 going to the Cat.

 

does it have to bo relpaced with a stock o2? or do i need another kindof sensor or something like that?

 

If it is infact a bad O2 sensor, replace it with stock. I still don't know what code you're throwing...that would help

 

hmm.. I've never thrown a light with my SPOON header and SMS cat.... Just an FYI.

i know how to check the codes but i dont know how to read them (short flash -long flash) something like that

 

count the flashes. Long flashes are tens digit and short flashes are ones digit. so 6 long and 7 short is a code 67...cat operating below threshold/efficiency.
